Formerly known as Mark A. Smith, Makabi Yashar is a dedicated artist, composer, and audio engineer whose life reflects a profound spiritual transformation. Having served in various roles within religious institutions—including Minister of Music, Youth Pastor, and Senior Pastor—Makabi made the courageous decision in 2021 to walk away from tradition and seek truth beyond the walls of religion.
In 2024, the Most High Yahuah awakened him to a deeper calling, changing the course of his music, message, and mission. In obedience to that call, Makabi removed all four of his former albums from streaming platforms and began anew—creating music that glorifies Yahuah and points listeners toward Yahusha Ha’Mashiac.
As an ESR Ambassador, Makabi helps spread the sound of truth while using his gifts to inspire and uplift. His music is marked by depth, humility, and reverence—offering a sound that reflects the journey of awakening and repentance. Beyond the studio, he is a devoted husband of 31 years to his beloved wife LaShonda, a proud father of four, and a grandfather of five.
